NHI works with planners, architects, designers, and engineers to ensure that new construction projects incorporate energy efficiency into all aspects of the design. NHI recommends leading energy conservation ideas and best practices that are drawn from projects around the world.

NHI’s objective during this Phase is to identify the optimal mix of energy efficient systems and technologies. Our design goal is to minimize total lifecycle costs, including the initial capital and installation costs and on-going energy and maintenance costs.

• Estimating and analyzing expected energy consumption
• Conducting financial and ROI calculations for energy-related capital investment and for on-going energy usage
• Recommending specific energy saving technologies and systems to reduce energy demand.
