NHI's EMbassador Program

Q. What is the EMbassador Program?

A. NHI’s EMbassador Program (short for Energy Management Ambassador Program) supplies energy management and energy efficiency experts on project-based consulting assignments around the globe. Assignments will be conducted for commercial, industrial, institutional, and government customers. The goal of the Program is to promote energy savings by identifying and implementing more efficient practices, processes, and technologies.

Q. How does the EMbassador Program work?

A. When a consulting contract has been signed, NHI will share the opportunity with the consultants enrolled in the EMbassador Program. If a consultant is interested in a particular opportunity, he notifies NHI of his interest. If not, he doesn’t need to respond.

Q. What types of consultants are you looking for?

A. NHI is actively seeking energy professionals with a minimum of 10 years of direct energy-related experience, in areas such as energy consulting, energy management systems, facilities management, and utility services. Specifically, we are looking for independent consultants, sole practitioners, and small energy management companies who would like to expand their consulting practice and grow their revenues. Consultants for the EMbassador Program will be drawn primarily from the United States and Canada.

Q. Who is responsible for business development and sales activities?

A. NHI will handle all of the marketing and sales activities for the consulting assignments, including pre-sales, proposal development, contract negotiations, and billing.

Q. How will I be compensated?

A. Compensation rates will be established upfront, on a project-by-project basis, and will vary by the size and scope of the assignment. Project scope, deliverables, milestones, and timetable will be clearly specified at the beginning of the project. Compensation will be established by using both fixed-price and hourly/daily billing rate approaches.

Q. Why should I participate?

A. NHI’s EMbassador Program provides a valuable service to the global community. Many companies, organizations, and governments outside North America and Europe don’t have access to the energy management expertise that could help them save money. The EMbassador Program provides a channel for facilitating the exchange of leading energy practices and processes.

The EMbassador Program is valuable to you for many reasons, including:

  • Add a new source of revenue.
  • Work as an independent contractor.
  • Stay at your current job and keep your current client base and income.
  • No need to relocate.
  • No up-front resource commitments.
  • NHI does the business development and selling—you don’t have to.
  • Add new international project assignments to your own portfolio.
  • Opportunities for overseas travel.
  • Maximum flexibility. Work only on those assignments that meet your own personal criteria.

And because NHI has an international focus, it won’t compete against you for your existing clients!!
